### sec.71 When a person is charged for this chapter in relation to a prescribed offence
This section applies for this chapter if a proceeding for a prescribed offence is started against a person by notice to appear or arrest.
This section also applies for this chapter if a police officer serves an infringement notice on a person for an infringement notice offence that is a vehicle related offence.
If the proceeding is started by notice to appear, the person is taken to be charged with having committed the offence when the notice to appear is issued and served on the person.
If the proceeding is started by arrest, the person is taken to be charged with having committed the offence when the person is arrested.
If a person is served with an infringement notice, the person is taken to be charged with having committed the offence when the infringement notice is served on the person.

(sec.71-ssec.1) This section applies for this chapter if a proceeding for a prescribed offence is started against a person by notice to appear or arrest.
(sec.71-ssec.2) This section also applies for this chapter if a police officer serves an infringement notice on a person for an infringement notice offence that is a vehicle related offence.
(sec.71-ssec.3) If the proceeding is started by notice to appear, the person is taken to be charged with having committed the offence when the notice to appear is issued and served on the person.
(sec.71-ssec.4) If the proceeding is started by arrest, the person is taken to be charged with having committed the offence when the person is arrested.
(sec.71-ssec.5) If a person is served with an infringement notice, the person is taken to be charged with having committed the offence when the infringement notice is served on the person.
