### sec.602G How police banning notices may be given
A police banning notice may be given by a police officer to the respondent for the notice—
by—
for an initial police banning notice—personally serving the notice on the respondent; or
for an extended police banning notice—serving the notice on the respondent; or
by sending the notice by electronic communication to a unique electronic address nominated by the respondent to the police officer.
However, a police officer must not give an initial police banning notice under subsection (1) (b) unless the respondent for the notice is in the presence of the officer when the notice is given.
Unless the contrary is proved, a police banning notice given by a police officer under subsection (1) (b) is taken to have been received by the respondent for the notice on the day and at the time the notice is sent to the unique electronic address nominated by the respondent to the police officer.
