### sec.602E Notice to be explained
Before giving an initial police banning notice, the police officer giving the notice must explain, or cause to be explained, to the respondent—
the duration and effect of the notice; and
the consequences of contravening the notice; and
an extended police banning notice may be given under division 3 ; and
the initial police banning notice may be cancelled by a police officer under section 602JA ; and
the respondent may apply to the commissioner to amend or cancel the initial police banning notice under division 5 .

- (a) the duration and effect of the notice; and
