### sec.588 Power to require answers to questions
This section applies if a police officer reasonably suspects that—
an offence against this part has been committed; and
a person may be able to give information about the offence.
The police officer may require the person to answer a question about the offence.

(sec.588-ssec.1) This section applies if a police officer reasonably suspects that— an offence against this part has been committed; and a person may be able to give information about the offence.
(sec.588-ssec.2) The police officer may require the person to answer a question about the offence.
- (a) an offence against this part has been committed; and
- (b) a person may be able to give information about the offence.
