### sec.537 Purpose of ch 18
The purpose of this chapter is to help ensure victims of particular sexual offences and serious assault offences, and certain other persons receive appropriate medical, physical and psychological treatment by authorising—
the taking of blood and urine samples from a person a police officer reasonably suspects has committed the relevant offence; and
the analysis of the samples to find out whether the person may have transmitted a relevant disease to the victim.
