### sec.509A Forensic nurse examiner’s powers
This section applies if a police officer asks a forensic nurse examiner to perform a forensic procedure on a person under section 502 .
The forensic nurse examiner may perform a forensic procedure that may provide evidence of the commission of the offence to which the forensic procedure consent or forensic procedure order relates.
If the forensic nurse examiner is performing an intimate forensic procedure and considers it reasonably necessary to also perform a non-intimate forensic procedure, the forensic nurse examiner may also perform a non-intimate forensic procedure on the person that may provide evidence of the commission of the offence.
The forensic nurse examiner may act under subsection (3) whether or not it is necessary to do so to enable the forensic nurse examiner to perform the intimate forensic procedure.
