### sec.255 Cancellation of authority
The chief executive officer may, by notice in writing given to the principal law enforcement officer for an authorised operation, cancel the authority at any time and for any reason.
Without limiting subsection (1) , the chief executive officer may cancel an authority for an authorised operation at any time at the request of the principal law enforcement officer for the operation.
Cancellation of an authority for a controlled operation takes effect at the time the notice is given or at the later time stated in the notice.
The chief executive officer may delegate powers under this section—see part 6 , division 1 .
