### sec.247 Variation of authority
The chief executive officer may vary an authority granted by the chief executive officer—
at any time on the chief executive officer’s own initiative; or
on application under section 248 .
However, a variation can not be made that has the effect of extending the period of validity of an urgent authority.
The chief executive officer may delegate powers under this section—see part 6 , division 1 .
