### sec.196 Entry procedure
This section applies if an inspector intends to enter a place under a warrant issued under this Act.
The inspector must do or make a reasonable attempt to do the following things before entering the place—
identify himself or herself to a person who is an occupier of the place and is present by producing the inspector’s identity card or another document evidencing the inspector’s appointment;
give a copy of the warrant to the person;
tell the person that the warrant authorises the inspector to enter the place;
give the person an opportunity to allow the inspector to immediately enter the place without using force.
However, the inspector need not comply with subsection (2) if the inspector reasonably believes that entry to the place without compliance is required to ensure the execution of the warrant is not frustrated.
In this section—
warrant includes a duplicate warrant under section 194 (3) .
(sec.196-ssec.1) This section applies if an inspector intends to enter a place under a warrant issued under this Act.

(sec.196-ssec.4) In this section— warrant includes a duplicate warrant under section 194 (3) .
- (a) identify himself or herself to a person who is an occupier of the place and is present by producing the inspector’s identity card or another document evidencing the inspector’s appointment;
- (b) give a copy of the warrant to the person;
- (c) tell the person that the warrant authorises the inspector to enter the place;
- (d) give the person an opportunity to allow the inspector to immediately enter the place without using force.
