### sec.173A Limitation on time for starting proceedings
A proceeding for an offence against this Act must start—
within 1 year after the offence is committed; or
within 1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge.
In a complaint starting a proceeding for an offence, a statement that the matter of the complaint came to the complainant’s knowledge on a stated day is evidence the matter came to the complainant’s knowledge on that day.

(sec.173A-ssec.1) A proceeding for an offence against this Act must start— within 1 year after the offence is committed; or within 1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge.
(sec.173A-ssec.2) In a complaint starting a proceeding for an offence, a statement that the matter of the complaint came to the complainant’s knowledge on a stated day is evidence the matter came to the complainant’s knowledge on that day.
- (a) within 1 year after the offence is committed; or
- (b) within 1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge.
