### sec.840A Costs of investigation If a court convicts a person of an offence against this Act, the court may order the person to pay to the department or RSHQ the reasonable costs, incurred by the department or RSHQ, of investigating the offence, including reasonable costs of preparing for the prosecution of the offence. This section does not limit the orders for costs the court may make. s 840A ins 2019 No. 7 s 270 amd 2024 No. 34 s 254 (sec.840A-ssec.1) If a court convicts a person of an offence against this Act, the court may order the person to pay to the department or RSHQ the reasonable costs, incurred by the department or RSHQ, of investigating the offence, including reasonable costs of preparing for the prosecution of the offence.
