### sec.827 Hearing procedures
In deciding an appeal, the appeal body—
has the same powers as the original decider; and
is not bound by the rules of evidence; and
must comply with natural justice; and
may hear the appeal in court or in chambers.
An appeal is by way of rehearing, unaffected by the decision.
Subject to subsections (1) and (2) , the procedure for the appeal is—
in accordance with the rules for the appeal body; or
in the absence of relevant rules, as directed by the appeal body.
A power under an Act to make rules for the appeal body includes power to make rules for appeals under this part.
