### sec.770 Receipt and information notice for seized things
As soon as possible after an inspector or authorised officer seizes a thing, the inspector or authorised officer must give the person from whom it was seized—
a receipt for the thing that generally describes the thing and its condition; and
an information notice about the decision to make the seizure.
However, if for any reason it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1) , the inspector or authorised officer must leave the receipt at the place where it was seized, in a reasonably secure way and in a conspicuous position.
The information notice and receipt may—
be given in the same document; and
relate to more than 1 seized thing.
This section does not apply to a thing if it is impractical or would be unreasonable to give the receipt, given the thing’s nature, condition and value.
