### sec.699 General obligation to keep risk to acceptable level
This section applies to a person on whom—
an obligation is imposed under this Act for an operating plant; or
an obligation is imposed under the safety management system for an operating plant.
To the extent of the person’s obligation mentioned in subsection (1) , the person must take all reasonable steps to ensure no person or property is exposed to a level of risk in relation to the operating plant that is more than an acceptable level.
Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.

(sec.699-ssec.1) This section applies to a person on whom— an obligation is imposed under this Act for an operating plant; or an obligation is imposed under the safety management system for an operating plant.
