### sec.586 Recovery of costs of and compensation for exercise of remedial power The State may recover from the responsible person as a debt any— reasonable costs the State, or an authorised person under section 580 , incurs in exercising a remedial power; and compensation payable by the State under section 584 in relation to the exercise of the remedial power. See also section 841 . However, in any proceeding to recover the costs, any relevant net proceeds of sale mentioned in section 585 must be deducted from the amount claimed for the costs.
