### sec.187 Water monitoring activities
A petroleum tenure holder may carry out any of the following activities in the area of the holder’s tenure to comply with its underground water obligations for the tenure—
gathering information about, or undertaking an assessment of, a water bore;
monitoring effects of the exercise of underground water rights for the tenure;
constructing or plugging and abandoning a water observation bore;
gathering information for preparing an underground water impact report or final report under the Water Act , chapter 3 ;
carrying out any other activity necessary to comply with an underground water obligation of the holder.
An activity mentioned in subsection (1) is a water monitoring activity .

(sec.187-ssec.2) An activity mentioned in subsection (1) is a water monitoring activity .

- (a) gathering information about, or undertaking an assessment of, a water bore;
- (b) monitoring effects of the exercise of underground water rights for the tenure;
- (c) constructing or plugging and abandoning a water observation bore;
- (d) gathering information for preparing an underground water impact report or final report under the Water Act , chapter 3 ;
- (e) carrying out any other activity necessary to comply with an underground water obligation of the holder.
