### sec.162 Accrued compensation rights relating to 1923 Act petroleum tenure
This section applies if—
a right, under the former compensation provisions, to compensation existed immediately before 31 December 2004; and
the right—
relates to a 1923 Act petroleum tenure; and
is about an act done or omission made before 31 December 2004.
For accrued compensation rights relating to a converted petroleum authority, see the 2004 Act, section 922.
The right continues after 31 December 2004.
The compensation must be decided under the former compensation provisions as if the provisions had not been repealed.
A matter relating to the compensation that, before 31 December 2004, had been referred to the Land and Resources Tribunal but not decided must be decided under the former compensation provisions.
In this section—
former compensation provisions means sections 18(5) and 97 to 99 of this Act, as they were in force immediately before 31 December 2004.

(sec.162-ssec.2) The right continues after 31 December 2004.
(sec.162-ssec.3) The compensation must be decided under the former compensation provisions as if the provisions had not been repealed.
