### sec.161D Meaning of serious child sex offence A serious child sex offence is an offence against a provision mentioned in schedule 1A , or an offence that involved counselling or procuring the commission of an offence mentioned in schedule 1A , committed— in relation to a child under 16 years; and in circumstances in which an offender convicted of the offence would be liable to imprisonment for life. s 161D prev s 161D ins 1997 No. 4 s 10 amd 2000 No. 63 s 276 sch 2 om 2006 No. 29 s 498 pres s 161D ins 2012 No. 14 s 7 - (a) in relation to a child under 16 years; and - (b) in circumstances in which an offender convicted of the offence would be liable to imprisonment for life.
