### sec.153 Imprisonment—liability to An offender liable to imprisonment for life, or for any other period, may be sentenced to imprisonment for any lesser period. An offender liable to imprisonment may be sentenced to pay a fine not exceeding the limits prescribed in section 46 in addition to, or instead of, the imprisonment.
