### sec.78 Main object of ch 5 and its achievement
The main object of this chapter is to enhance the accountability of public administration in Queensland.
The chapter’s main object is to be achieved by—
establishing the Committee of the Legislative Assembly with areas of responsibility that include the conduct of the Assembly and the ethical conduct of members; and
providing for the membership and operation of portfolio committees; and
establishing the Ethics Committee with areas of responsibility that include dealing with complaints about the ethical conduct of members and alleged breaches of parliamentary privilege.

(sec.78-ssec.1) The main object of this chapter is to enhance the accountability of public administration in Queensland.
