### sec.15 Speaker continues to hold office on Assembly’s expiry or dissolution
For all purposes, the Speaker holding office on the Assembly’s expiry or dissolution continues to hold the office until the day before the Assembly’s first sitting day after a general election.
Subsection (1) applies even if the Speaker—
is not a candidate for election as a member at the general election; or
is a candidate for election as a member at the general election and is not elected.
(sec.15-ssec.1) For all purposes, the Speaker holding office on the Assembly’s expiry or dissolution continues to hold the office until the day before the Assembly’s first sitting day after a general election.
(sec.15-ssec.2) Subsection (1) applies even if the Speaker— is not a candidate for election as a member at the general election; or is a candidate for election as a member at the general election and is not elected.
- (a) is not a candidate for election as a member at the general election; or
- (b) is a candidate for election as a member at the general election and is not elected.
