### sec.81 Appointment—sale on consignment
A motor dealer must not act as a motor dealer for a person (a client ) to sell the client’s motor vehicle on consignment unless—
the client first appoints the motor dealer in writing under this subdivision (a motor dealer appointment ); or
a previous motor dealer appointment is assigned to the motor dealer under the terms of the appointment or under section 85 and the appointment is in force.
Maximum penalty—200 penalty units.
A motor dealer appointment may be for the performance of—
a particular service within a stated period (a single appointment ); or
a number of services from time to time while the appointment continues in force (a continuing appointment ).
