### sec.166 Chief executive may issue or refuse to issue registration certificate
The chief executive may decide to issue or refuse to issue a registration certificate to an applicant.
The chief executive may decide to issue a certificate to an applicant only if the chief executive is satisfied—
the applicant is a suitable person to obtain registration; and
the applicant is eligible to obtain registration; and
the application is made under section 154 ; and
any further information or material required by the chief executive under section 156 has been given within the reasonable period stated in the notice given under that section.
If the chief executive decides to refuse to issue the registration certificate, the chief executive must give the applicant an information notice about the decision within 14 days after making the decision.

(sec.166-ssec.1) The chief executive may decide to issue or refuse to issue a registration certificate to an applicant.
(sec.166-ssec.2) The chief executive may decide to issue a certificate to an applicant only if the chief executive is satisfied— the applicant is a suitable person to obtain registration; and the applicant is eligible to obtain registration; and the application is made under section 154 ; and any further information or material required by the chief executive under section 156 has been given within the reasonable period stated in the notice given under that section.
(sec.166-ssec.3) If the chief executive decides to refuse to issue the registration certificate, the chief executive must give the applicant an information notice about the decision within 14 days after making the decision.
- (a) the applicant is a suitable person to obtain registration; and
- (b) the applicant is eligible to obtain registration; and
- (c) the application is made under section 154 ; and
- (d) any further information or material required by the chief executive under section 156 has been given within the reasonable period stated in the notice given under that section.
