### sec.144 Receipts to be given on seizure As soon as practicable after an officer seizes a thing, the officer must give a receipt for it to the person from whom it was seized. However, if for any reason it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1) , the officer must leave the receipt at the place of seizure in a conspicuous position and in a reasonably secure way. The receipt must describe generally each thing seized and its condition.
