### sec.318CH Provisions for coal or oil shale exploration tenement
The Petroleum Act 1923 and the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act do not limit or otherwise affect the power under this Act to grant a coal or oil shale exploration tenement over land (the overlapping land ) in the area of an authority to prospect.
However, an authorised activity for the coal or oil shale exploration tenement can not be carried out on the overlapping land if—
carrying it out adversely affects the carrying out of an authorised activity for the authority to prospect; and
the authorised activity for the authority to prospect has already started.

(sec.318CH-ssec.1) The Petroleum Act 1923 and the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act do not limit or otherwise affect the power under this Act to grant a coal or oil shale exploration tenement over land (the overlapping land ) in the area of an authority to prospect.
(sec.318CH-ssec.2) However, an authorised activity for the coal or oil shale exploration tenement can not be carried out on the overlapping land if— carrying it out adversely affects the carrying out of an authorised activity for the authority to prospect; and the authorised activity for the authority to prospect has already started.
- (a) carrying it out adversely affects the carrying out of an authorised activity for the authority to prospect; and
- (b) the authorised activity for the authority to prospect has already started.
