### sec.318AO Application of pt 2
This part applies if a person wishes to apply for a coal mining lease or an oil shale mining lease for all or part of the land in the area of an authority to prospect.
However, this part does not apply if—
the person is the authority to prospect holder; or
the application is to be made jointly with the holder; or
the application is made with the holder’s written consent; or
the land is also in the area of a petroleum lease and the same person holds the authority to prospect and the petroleum lease.

(sec.318AO-ssec.1) This part applies if a person wishes to apply for a coal mining lease or an oil shale mining lease for all or part of the land in the area of an authority to prospect.
(sec.318AO-ssec.2) However, this part does not apply if— the person is the authority to prospect holder; or the application is to be made jointly with the holder; or the application is made with the holder’s written consent; or the land is also in the area of a petroleum lease and the same person holds the authority to prospect and the petroleum lease. - (a) the person is the authority to prospect holder; or
- (b) the application is to be made jointly with the holder; or
- (c) the application is made with the holder’s written consent; or
- (d) the land is also in the area of a petroleum lease and the same person holds the authority to prospect and the petroleum lease.
