### sec.318AAR Indicative approval
An applicant for a mining lease, or the holder of an interest in an application for a mining lease, may, before applying for an approval of an application transfer for the mining lease, apply—
for an indication of whether the transfer is likely to be approved (an indicative approval ); and
if conditions are likely to be imposed on the giving of the approval—for an indication of what the conditions are likely to be.
The application must be—
made to the Minister; and
in the approved form; and
accompanied by—
the information the Minister requires to make a decision; and
the fee prescribed by regulation.
In deciding whether or not to give the indicative approval, the Minister must consider the matters mentioned in section 318AAT (2) as if the request were an application for approval of an application transfer.
The Minister must decide whether or not to give the indicative approval and give the applicant notice of the decision.

(sec.318AAR-ssec.2) The application must be— made to the Minister; and in the approved form; and accompanied by— the information the Minister requires to make a decision; and the fee prescribed by regulation.
(sec.318AAR-ssec.3) In deciding whether or not to give the indicative approval, the Minister must consider the matters mentioned in section 318AAT (2) as if the request were an application for approval of an application transfer.
