### sec.317V Steps after, and taking effect of, decision
The chief executive must give notice of the Minister’s decision about a proposed initial development plan or proposed later development plan under section 317N , 317T or 317U to—
for a proposed plan lodged by the applicant for the grant or renewal of a mining lease for a prescribed mineral—the applicant; or
for a proposed plan lodged by the holder of a mining lease—the holder.
A notice about any of the following decisions must be an information notice—
a decision under section 317N or 317T to refuse to approve the proposed plan;
a deferral decision under section 317U (2) (a) ;
a decision to impose a surrender condition under section 317U (2) (b) .
An approval of a proposed later development plan without a deferral decision under section 317U (2) (a) takes effect when the notice is given or, if the notice states a later day of effect, on that later day.
A refusal does not take effect until the end of the appeal period under section 317W .
