### sec.53N Ceasing to be a judicial registrar
A person ceases to be a judicial registrar if—
the person’s term of appointment ends; or
the person resigns by written notice given to the Attorney-General; or
having attained 55, the person elects to retire by written notice given to the Attorney-General; or
the person is removed from office; or
the person attains 70; or
the person ceases to hold office under section 53F (3) .
However, a person who ceases to be a judicial registrar, other than under subsection (1) (d) or (f) , is taken to continue to be a judicial registrar to the extent necessary to enable a decision to be given in a matter that is partly heard or standing for the decision of the judicial registrar.

(sec.53N-ssec.1) A person ceases to be a judicial registrar if— the person’s term of appointment ends; or the person resigns by written notice given to the Attorney-General; or having attained 55, the person elects to retire by written notice given to the Attorney-General; or the person is removed from office; or the person attains 70; or the person ceases to hold office under section 53F (3) .
(sec.53N-ssec.2) However, a person who ceases to be a judicial registrar, other than under subsection (1) (d) or (f) , is taken to continue to be a judicial registrar to the extent necessary to enable a decision to be given in a matter that is partly heard or standing for the decision of the judicial registrar.
- (a) the person’s term of appointment ends; or
- (b) the person resigns by written notice given to the Attorney-General; or
- (c) having attained 55, the person elects to retire by written notice given to the Attorney-General; or
- (d) the person is removed from office; or
- (e) the person attains 70; or
- (f) the person ceases to hold office under section 53F (3) .
