### sec.14 Functions of Deputy Chief Magistrate
A Deputy Chief Magistrate—
in addition to exercising functions as a magistrate, must exercise such other functions as the Chief Magistrate directs; and
if the magistrate is nominated under section 12 (2) (g) , may act as the Chief Magistrate during—
a vacancy in the office; or
any period when the Chief Magistrate is absent from duty or from the State or is, for any other reason, unable to perform the duties of the office.

- (a) in addition to exercising functions as a magistrate, must exercise such other functions as the Chief Magistrate directs; and
