### sec.189 Failure to comply with requirement about attendance
A person of whom a requirement is made under section 188 must not, unless the person has a reasonable excuse—
fail to attend before the inspector at the time and place stated in the notice imposing the requirement; or
when attending before the inspector—
fail to comply with a requirement to answer a question or give information; or
state anything the person knows to be false or misleading in a material particular.
Maximum penalty—40 penalty units.
It is a reasonable excuse for a person to fail to comply with a requirement to answer a question or give information if complying with the requirement might tend to incriminate the person.
