### sec.83 Appointing categorisation officer
The chief executive officer may appoint a qualified person as a categorisation officer for this division.
For subsection (1) , a person is qualified if the person—
has the competencies the chief executive officer considers are necessary to perform the functions that are required to be performed by the person under this division; and
is authorised by a local government for this division.
A categorisation officer’s appointment is subject to—
section 85 ; and
the conditions stated in the document that appoints the categorisation officer.
(sec.83-ssec.1) The chief executive officer may appoint a qualified person as a categorisation officer for this division.
(sec.83-ssec.2) For subsection (1) , a person is qualified if the person— has the competencies the chief executive officer considers are necessary to perform the functions that are required to be performed by the person under this division; and is authorised by a local government for this division.
(sec.83-ssec.3) A categorisation officer’s appointment is subject to— section 85 ; and the conditions stated in the document that appoints the categorisation officer.
