### sec.370 Temporary continuation of local government areas and divisions
Sections 6 and 7 and schedule 1, as in force immediately before the commencement, continue to apply for a local government until the conclusion of the 2024 quadrennial election for the local government.
However, if a place is excluded from a local government’s local government area and included in another local government’s local government area because of a boundary change, the inclusion and exclusion take effect at the earlier conclusion of the 2024 quadrennial election for either local government.
This section applies despite sections 6 and 7 and schedule 1.
In this section—
amended schedule 1 means schedule 1 as in force on the commencement.
boundary change means a change from the boundaries shown on a local government’s area map mentioned in former schedule 1 to the boundaries shown on the local government’s area map mentioned in amended schedule 1.
former schedule 1 means schedule 1 as in force before the commencement.
