### sec.287 Payment by former employer to new employer towards long service leave entitlements accrued with former employer
The former employer must, when the person’s entitlement has accrued, pay the new employer an amount for the number of days of long service leave that the person is entitled to take because of the person’s period of employment with the former employer.
After a period of employment of 3 years with council A a person becomes an employee of council B. Council A must, when the entitlement has accrued, pay to council B an amount for the 3 years of long service leave that the person is entitled to for their employment with council A.
The amount—
is the amount the former employer would have been required to pay the person if the person had taken the long service leave; and
must be paid within a reasonable time of being requested by the new employer.
A former employer must provide the new employer with the following information relating to the person—
the length of accrued long service leave;
any special leave taken by the person without salary;
any long service leave taken by the person or any amount of cash paid to the person in lieu of long service leave;
any undertaking given in relation to long service leave.

- (a) is the amount the former employer would have been required to pay the person if the person had taken the long service leave; and
