### sec.261 Adjournment of meetings
The majority of councillors present at a meeting of a local government may adjourn the meeting to a later hour of the same day or to a later day.
If a quorum is not present within 15 minutes after the time appointed for a meeting, the meeting may be adjourned to a later hour or another day within 14 days after the day of adjournment, by—
a majority of the councillors present; or
if only 1 councillor is present—the councillor; or
if no councillors are present—the chief executive officer.
(sec.261-ssec.1) The majority of councillors present at a meeting of a local government may adjourn the meeting to a later hour of the same day or to a later day.
