### sec.218 Power to choose strategic approach
A local government may, by resolution, decide to apply this part to its contracts.
However, the local government may do so only after it—
has considered the costs and benefits of complying with this part; and
has given the public notice of the proposed resolution.
The notice must—
state the proposed resolution; and
state the day and time of the meeting where the resolution is to be considered; and
be published on the local government’s website, and in another way the chief executive officer considers appropriate, at least 4 weeks before the meeting.

(sec.218-ssec.1) A local government may, by resolution, decide to apply this part to its contracts.
(sec.218-ssec.2) However, the local government may do so only after it— has considered the costs and benefits of complying with this part; and has given the public notice of the proposed resolution.
