### sec.171 Long-term financial forecast
A local government’s long-term financial forecast is a forecast, covering a period of at least 10 years, of the following for each year during the period of the forecast—
income of the local government;
expenditure of the local government;
the value of assets, liabilities and equity of the local government.
The local government must—
consider its long-term financial forecast before planning new borrowings; and
review its long-term financial forecast annually.
(sec.171-ssec.1) A local government’s long-term financial forecast is a forecast, covering a period of at least 10 years, of the following for each year during the period of the forecast— income of the local government; expenditure of the local government; the value of assets, liabilities and equity of the local government.
(sec.171-ssec.2) The local government must— consider its long-term financial forecast before planning new borrowings; and review its long-term financial forecast annually.
