### sec.96A Re-counting of votes At any time before the following happens, the electoral commission may direct the returning officer, or another member of the electoral commission’s staff, to re-count some or all of the ballot papers for an election— the result of the poll for the election is notified by the electoral commission under section 100 ; the electoral commission refers a matter to the Court of Disputed Returns under part 7 . The returning officer may re-count some or all of the ballot papers for the election at any time before the results of the election are notified. A person carrying out a re-count of ballot papers must, so far as practicable, ensure that the requirements of section 95 are complied with.
