### sec.25 Calling for nominations
The returning officer must publish notice of an election on the electoral commission’s website, and in other ways the returning officer considers appropriate.
The notice must—
state a day as a nomination day—
not less than 8, or more than 18, days after the publication of the notice; and
not less than 18, or more than 42, days before the day on which the election is to be held; and
state the nominations must be given to the returning officer; and
invite nominations of candidates.
The place of nomination must be—
the office of the returning officer; or
a place in the local government’s area convenient generally to persons in the area.
