### sec.10 Assistant returning officers
An assistant returning officer is responsible for helping the returning officer in performing the returning officer’s responsibilities under this Act.
The electoral commission may appoint a person as an assistant returning officer for an election.
A person must not be appointed under subsection (2) if the person is—
a minor; or
a member of a political party.
The electoral commission may appoint 1 or more assistant returning officers for an election.

(sec.10-ssec.1) An assistant returning officer is responsible for helping the returning officer in performing the returning officer’s responsibilities under this Act.
(sec.10-ssec.2) The electoral commission may appoint a person as an assistant returning officer for an election.
(sec.10-ssec.3) A person must not be appointed under subsection (2) if the person is— a minor; or a member of a political party.
(sec.10-ssec.4) The electoral commission may appoint 1 or more assistant returning officers for an election.
