### sec.246 Where fines are to be paid to
This section applies if, in proceedings brought by a local government for an offence against a Local Government Act , the court imposes a fine.
The fine must be paid to the local government’s operating fund, unless the court ordered the fine to be paid to a person.
In this section, a reference to a local government includes a reference to a joint local government.
