### sec.150AF Investigating suspected conduct breach
Subject to section 150AEA , the local government must investigate the councillor’s conduct.
In conducting the investigation, the local government must comply with the investigation policy.
If, in investigating the conduct, the local government obtains information indicating the councillor may have engaged in misconduct, the local government must—
give the information to the assessor for a preliminary assessment under division 3A ; and
take no further action in relation to the conduct.

(sec.150AF-ssec.1) Subject to section 150AEA , the local government must investigate the councillor’s conduct.
