### sec.173NO Termination of licensee member’s membership
The membership of a licensee member of the local board for a safe night precinct may be terminated only under this section.
A local board’s management committee may terminate the membership of a licensee member if the member—
is convicted of an indictable offence; or
has membership fees in arrears for at least 2 months; or
acts in a way that is contrary to the interests of the board.
Before the management committee terminates a licensee member’s membership, the committee must—
give the member a written notice inviting the member to show, within a stated reasonable period, why the membership should not be terminated; and
consider any representations made by the member.
If the management committee decides to terminate the membership of a licensee member, the secretary of the committee must give the member written notice of the decision.
This section does not prevent the rules of the local board for a safe night precinct providing for—
a licensee member to resign from the local board; or
a licensee member whose membership is terminated under subsection (2) to appeal to the local board against the management committee’s termination decision; or
a general meeting of the local board to decide an appeal mentioned in paragraph (b) .
