### sec.142ZS Show cause notice
This section applies if the commissioner reasonably believes a ground exists to suspend or cancel an approval as a controller, but the commissioner has not given an immediate suspension notice to the holder of the approval.
The commissioner must give the holder of the approval a written notice under this section (a show cause notice ).
The show cause notice must state the following—
the action (the proposed action ) the commissioner proposes taking under this division;
the grounds for the proposed action;
an outline of the facts and circumstances forming the basis for the grounds;
if the proposed action is suspension of the approval—the proposed suspension period;
an invitation to the holder to show within a stated period (the show cause period ) why the proposed action should not be taken.
The show cause period must be a period ending not less than 21 days after the show cause notice is given to the holder.
