### sec.682 Status of the law society because of its establishment in Act
The law society is a statutory body for the Financial Accountability Act 2009 and the Statutory Bodies Financial Arrangements Act 1982 .
The Statutory Bodies Financial Arrangements Act 1982 , part 2B , sets out the way in which the law society’s powers under this Act are affected by the Statutory Bodies Financial Arrangements Act 1982 .
The law society—
does not represent the State; and
is not entitled to any immunities or privileges of the State.
