### sec.564 Compensation A person may claim compensation— from the law society if the person incurs loss or expense because of the exercise or purported exercise of a power under part 6.3 , 6 .4 or 6.5 in relation to a part 3.3 investigation that, at the time of the exercise or purported exercise of a power, was not a part 3.3 investigation as part of investigation into a complaint or investigation matter; or from the commissioner if the person incurs loss or expense because of any other exercise or purported exercise of a power under part 6.3 , 6 .4 or 6.5. Without limiting subsection (1) , compensation may be claimed for loss or expense incurred in complying with a requirement of the person made or purported to have been made under part 6.3 , 6 .4 or 6.5. Compensation may be claimed and ordered to be paid in a proceeding brought in a court with jurisdiction for the recovery of the amount of compensation claimed.
