### sec.47 Duration of local practising certificates
A local practising certificate granted under this Act is in force from the date stated in it until the end of the financial year in which it is granted, unless the certificate is sooner suspended or cancelled.
A local practising certificate renewed under this Act is in force until the end of the financial year following its previous period of currency, unless the certificate is sooner suspended or cancelled.
If an application for the renewal of a local practising certificate is received before the time stated in the regulatory authority’s administration rules for applying for a renewal but the application has not been decided by the following 1 July, the certificate—
continues in force on and from that 1 July until 1 of the following happens—
the authority renews or refuses to renew the certificate;
the local legal practitioner withdraws the application for renewal;
the certificate is suspended or cancelled; and
if renewed, is taken to have been renewed on and from that 1 July.
(sec.47-ssec.1) A local practising certificate granted under this Act is in force from the date stated in it until the end of the financial year in which it is granted, unless the certificate is sooner suspended or cancelled.
(sec.47-ssec.2) A local practising certificate renewed under this Act is in force until the end of the financial year following its previous period of currency, unless the certificate is sooner suspended or cancelled.
(sec.47-ssec.3) If an application for the renewal of a local practising certificate is received before the time stated in the regulatory authority’s administration rules for applying for a renewal but the application has not been decided by the following 1 July, the certificate— continues in force on and from that 1 July until 1 of the following happens— the authority renews or refuses to renew the certificate; the local legal practitioner withdraws the application for renewal; the certificate is suspended or cancelled; and if renewed, is taken to have been renewed on and from that 1 July.
- (a) continues in force on and from that 1 July until 1 of the following happens— (i) the authority renews or refuses to renew the certificate; (ii) the local legal practitioner withdraws the application for renewal; (iii) the certificate is suspended or cancelled; and
- (i) the authority renews or refuses to renew the certificate;
- (ii) the local legal practitioner withdraws the application for renewal;
- (iii) the certificate is suspended or cancelled; and
- (b) if renewed, is taken to have been renewed on and from that 1 July.
- (i) the authority renews or refuses to renew the certificate;
- (ii) the local legal practitioner withdraws the application for renewal;
- (iii) the certificate is suspended or cancelled; and
