### sec.402 Protocols
A regulation may authorise the law society to enter into arrangements ( fidelity protocols ) with corresponding authorities in relation to matters to which this part relates.
Without limiting subsection (1) , a regulation may authorise the making of a fidelity protocol that provides that the law society is taken to have—
requested a corresponding authority to act as agent of the law society in stated classes of cases; or
agreed to act as agent of a corresponding authority in stated classes of cases.
A regulation may provide for the amendment, revocation or replacement of a fidelity protocol.
A fidelity protocol, or an amendment, revocation or replacement of a fidelity protocol, has effect in this jurisdiction only to the extent it is approved under a regulation.
(sec.402-ssec.1) A regulation may authorise the law society to enter into arrangements ( fidelity protocols ) with corresponding authorities in relation to matters to which this part relates.
(sec.402-ssec.2) Without limiting subsection (1) , a regulation may authorise the making of a fidelity protocol that provides that the law society is taken to have— requested a corresponding authority to act as agent of the law society in stated classes of cases; or agreed to act as agent of a corresponding authority in stated classes of cases.
(sec.402-ssec.3) A regulation may provide for the amendment, revocation or replacement of a fidelity protocol.
(sec.402-ssec.4) A fidelity protocol, or an amendment, revocation or replacement of a fidelity protocol, has effect in this jurisdiction only to the extent it is approved under a regulation.
- (a) requested a corresponding authority to act as agent of the law society in stated classes of cases; or
- (b) agreed to act as agent of a corresponding authority in stated classes of cases.
