### sec.39 Role of the board relating to application for admission
The board’s role is to help the Supreme Court by making a recommendation about each application for admission.
The board must consider each application and, in particular, whether or not—
the application is made under the admission rules; and
the applicant is eligible for admission to the legal profession under this Act; and
the applicant is a fit and proper person for admission to the legal profession under this Act, including having regard to all suitability matters in relation to the applicant to the extent appropriate; and
there are other matters the Supreme Court may consider relevant.
The board makes a recommendation to the Supreme Court about the application by giving the recommendation to the Brisbane registrar and a copy of it to the applicant.
(sec.39-ssec.1) The board’s role is to help the Supreme Court by making a recommendation about each application for admission.
(sec.39-ssec.2) The board must consider each application and, in particular, whether or not— the application is made under the admission rules; and the applicant is eligible for admission to the legal profession under this Act; and the applicant is a fit and proper person for admission to the legal profession under this Act, including having regard to all suitability matters in relation to the applicant to the extent appropriate; and there are other matters the Supreme Court may consider relevant.
(sec.39-ssec.3) The board makes a recommendation to the Supreme Court about the application by giving the recommendation to the Brisbane registrar and a copy of it to the applicant.
- (a) the application is made under the admission rules; and
- (b) the applicant is eligible for admission to the legal profession under this Act; and
- (c) the applicant is a fit and proper person for admission to the legal profession under this Act, including having regard to all suitability matters in relation to the applicant to the extent appropriate; and
- (d) there are other matters the Supreme Court may consider relevant.
