### sec.296 Report about law society’s functions
The chief executive may, by written notice, ask the law society to give to the chief executive or commissioner a report at any time, for a period stated in the chief executive’s request, about the law society’s functions under this part.
The report must include the information the chief executive considers appropriate, including, for example, information about a law practice’s compliance with section 268 .
If the chief executive makes a request under subsection (1) , the law society must comply with the request and give the relevant report to the chief executive or commissioner by the day stated in the notice for that purpose.
